INTERIOR & EXTERIOR USE
Armourwood is rated H3.2 by the New Zealand Timber Preservation Council (NZTPC). H3.2 rating ensures that Armourwood is protected from decaying fungus (rot) when exposed to weather in structural use but not in direct contact with the ground.
With an H3.2 timber classification, Armourwood has all the properties and protection of an H1, H2 and H3.1 rating and is guaranteed preservative-treated and suitable for use in both interior as well as exterior applications. Interior applications include trusses, beams, floor joists, ceiling joists, wall frames, jambs, stairs, and posts. For exterior applications, Armourwood can be used for trellises, decks, gazebos, pergolas, fences, railings, eaves and fascias.
CERTIFIED INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS
Armourwood is assured treated and kiln-dried in accordance to strict international quality standards every step of the way. The New Zealand Timber Industry Federation (NZTIF) is internationally recognized as a credible institution representing the New Zealand timber industry. The NZTIF manages international certified quality assurance programmes for preservative treatment and kiln-drying.
All Armourwood products are assured kiln-dried to the highest level of quality by the New Zealand Dri (NZDRI) kiln-drying quality assurance programme. Quality preservative treatment of all Armourwood products conforms to and is validated by the WoodMark, the ISO for quality wood treatment and the internationally recognized trademark of the New Zealand Timber Preservation Council.
RENEWABLE RESOURCE
Armourwood is made from plantation-grown forests of Radiata Pine in New Zealand. For every tree cut, five trees are planted.
Armourwood is FSC Certified. Forest Stewardship Council or FSC is an international organization that supports the responsible management of the world’s forests. It is the mark of responsible forestry.
FULL PRESERVATIVE PENETRATION
Armourwood is treated to the core; it is fully protected inside and out. Sourced from plantation grown New Zealand Radiata Pine which has unique absorption quality, Armourwood undergoes extreme high impregnation pressure treatment process. Preservative penetration is complete, consistent, and to the core. Unlike other treated wood that achieves only surface treatment, Armourwood's 100% treatment coverage means that no brushing (re-sealing) of preservatives on cut or trimmed portions is needed.
All Armourwood products are high pressure treated with Tanalith, the worldwide choice for wood preservative for more than 50 years. Armourwood's double vacuum, high impregnation pressure treatment process allows deep preservative penetration and unique chemical binding to the wood. The result is durable wood that lasts a long time.
THE NATURAL WOOD
There is nothing like the natural. Offering natural warmth, versatility and aesthetic appeal, wood has been the specified choice of generations of architects, interior designers and homebuilders for their structural and finishing requirements. Wood treated with preservatives is protected from natural decay and termite attacks.
However, outdated brush-on wood preservative technique has proven to provide protection that is only short-lived and unreliable. With modern pressuretreatment of wood, durability and performance are greatly enhanced, providing users and specifiers greater confidence in wood as a reliable construction material.
