EASTBERG GM Quick Dry Jointing Compound is a modified gypsum powder used for jointing between plasterboard joints, embedding drywall tapes, covering fastener heads, lining plasterboard surfaces and patching plaster cracks. With a quick setting time of approximately 45 minutes, EASTBERG GM Quick Dry Jointing Compound allows for jointing works to be completed in a single day. It uses a specially formulated filler that has superior bonding, shrinkage and cracking resistance. Ideal for interior use, EASTBERG GM Quick Dry Jointing Compound is easy to mix with no lumps and easy to sand with excellent smoothing and stability. EASTBERG GM Quick Dry Jointing Compound is great for jointing between plasterboard joints.
EASTBERG GM Quick Dry Jointing Compound is available in 20kg bags with a coverage of 70+ sqm/bag.
1. Use clean tools and containers.
2. Mix Ratio is 2 : 1 (Jointing Compound to water) by weight.
3. Slowly add jointing compound to pre-gauged clean water.
4. Mix only enough jointing compound with water for what is needed.
5. Mix by hand or by mixing tool at a low speed (Max 400rpm)
until a smooth and homogenous mixture with a workable consistency
has been achieved. Do not overmix.
6. Allow the mixture to rest for 4 to 5 minutes for air trapped inside to be released.
1. Ensure that all dust, dirt and foreign matter are scrapped and brushed away.
Also ensure that surfaces are free from salt, oil, or grace.
2. Apply a 1st layer of mixture about 150mm wide with a trowel.
3. Center, firmly press and embed the Eastberg Fibermesh Tape into position
over the seam, making sure that it adheres properly.
4. Allow the 1st layer to set thoroughly
5. Apply a 2nd layer of mixture about 200mm wide.
6. Allow the 12nd layer to set thoroughly
7. Apply a 3rd layer of mixture about 250mm wide
8. Wait to fully dry before sanding (if needed). Use 150 grit sandpaper.
